Hiap Yick Tables & Chairs Renting was started in 1945 by Old Mister Lim. The original shop was located in Beach Road. Initially a counter seasonal business, Hiap Yick's mission was to specialize in formal events and weddings, targeted by old Mister Lim as an under-supplied market. He identified and filled the need for clean, state-of-the-art equipment and first rate service. Up until very recently, most advertising was done strictly through word of mouth. For the most part, Hiap Yick's business continues to be primarily based on referrals by satisfied customers. Hiap Yick works hand in hand with many of the region's best caterers and wedding services suppliers. Our distinguished client list and testimonials attest to a business that is dedicated to quality and excellence of service.

Today Hiap Yick has established herself as one of the oldest and nostalgic names in the rental industry of tentage in Singapore. Hiap yick has developed more than 57 years of experiences in management of seatings, layout of functions design and decoration.

Over the years, Hiap Yick's clients moved from the old British Colonial master, British Crown agencies and department, Chinese merchants to the present Corporate Organisations, Government Bodies, Hotels and etc.

Due to rapid urban development in Singapore in the 1980s, Hiap Yick was inevitably affected. In 1989, Hiap Yick was re-located to its current address, 31 Defu Lane 12.
